Welcome to the Berea College Farm Store, an experiential learning laboratory for undergraduates in local food systems and value-added agriculture.
The Berea College Farm is one of the oldest continuously operating student educational farms in the United States. It raises a wide variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, grains, beans, mushrooms, honey, pork, beef, chicken, goat, fish and more – all produced by students gaining hands-on farming experience while working their way through college. Much of the cropland is USDA certified organic and the Farm maintains animal-welfare certifications on several of the livestock enterprises.
In 2013 the College opened Farm Store in the renovated, historic Broomcraft Building located on the edge of campus, adjacent to Farm. It’s equipped with a kitchen and meat-processing room and offers foods produced by the College Farm as well as products from nearby farms and small businesses in the central Appalachian Region and throughout Kentucky.
Your purchases at the Farm Store support sustainable agriculture education for students with strong academic potential and financial need.

The Berea College Farm Store has a lot of products that come from the local area and has a service that creates a friendly and wholesome atmosphere. They have a range of products such as organic yogurt that is made without any artificial preservatives, fresh fruit and an assortment of cheese. I enjoyed the service as the staff was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend the Berea College Farm Store to anyone, whether a foodie or passerby.
If you want the most fresh food, as well as some special kinds of food that you can not find anywhere else, you can’t miss this!!!
Food grown and raised just down the street. In the old broomcraft building (in front of Seabury Center), very nicely renovated. Students appear to be involved in every facet. Watch through the window as lads and lasses in lab coats make sausage! Besides its own meats, veggies, grains, legumes, honey, and baked goods, offerings are rounded out by some regionally produced cheese, pasta, misc sauces and condiments, as well as soaps and other products for the epidermis. And seeds! Awesome idea, well executed. Way to go, BC.
I have always been a fan of Berea College and this food store is a wonderful addition. I picked up some delicious looking bread and some seeds to plant in my spring garden. Coming or going down the interstate I always make time to stop and see what is new happening at the college
Enjoyed our lunch: Will come back! You guys taste great! – July 2016
