We’ve been fortunate enough to be blessed with fantastic mild weather but, with the dog days of summer in the midst, it’s becoming as important as ever to pump your body full of healthy fuel before your day’s work. Luckily, the Berea College Farm has just what you need. Our tables continue to offer you the seasonal variety twice weekly to ensure your taste buds are satisfied. Not only that, but our lovely workers enjoy seeing your bright and shining faces Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings!
Our tomatoes are coming in strong and our tables will be stocked and loaded with apples, blackberries, tomatoes, and all the goodies. Be sure to pick up some of our juicy Amish Paste tomatoes to add to your hamburger made from–you guessed it! Our lovely Animal Welfare Approved and Grass-fed ground beef.
If you prefer tomatoes in another form, be sure to pick up some of our “Sweet Heat” Salsa made and processed by Berea College students, just like all of our other goods.
The possibilities are endless with what you can make with our produce and meat. This week, I’d like to hear what sort of recipes and suggestions you might have for me, so feel free to stop by and chat while you scope out the market!
Finally, the bratwurst taste testing is on Tuesday evening markets. Our interns have been working hard to develop your favorite new blend. Try a few and tell us what you think. Your feedback is much appreciated! Make sure you play your part, and maybe your favorite brat will be waiting for you in our freezers!
Come see us this week at the market and thanks for supporting your local farmers and artisans!
