The honey bees have been a part of the College Farm since the early 2000s, generating honey while performing pollinating services for fruit and vegetable production.

Over the past decade the colonies have been managed without the use of any synthetic or organic pesticides. The breeding stock has been selected based on its capacity to survive without such inputs and currently includes New World Carniolan, Russian, VSH, and swarms from local survivor colonies.

The honey is harvested each fall in the Bees and Beekeeping course and sold in the Farm Store.
